Partridge Shooting in Spain
The season runs from the 1st Otober to 1st February each year
The Bustamante family have been running partridge shoots on the family estate for more than 40 years, and have a long family history in hunting, much like our own, we have been taking groups to them for many years. They produce an unforgettable experience combining field sports, nature, fine cuisine, culture and unparalleled hospitality.
Set in 20,000 hectares of the most beautiful countryside, Las Golondrinas represents the ultimate in Spanish traditional hospitality and shooting. The landscape here isn't just beautiful — it offers a wide variety of drives. Partridge shooting in Spain is characterized by high, crossing and bursting coveys, which provide an exciting challenge to all the guns in a variety of terrains.
Spainish partridge shoots are traditionally double gun days, so you will be accompanied by both a loader and a ‘Secretario’ on your peg, the later helping to mark fallen birds.
The accommodation retains many of its original features and the natural river valleys provide exceptional topography for the presentation of exceptional sporting partridge. For non-shooters there are many interesting historical and cultural places to visit nearby. The town of Trujillo, Caceres, Merida or Guadalupe, are all close by, and a driver will be on hand to show them around. Lunch consists of traditional Spanish Tapas, before continuing with the afternoon drives.
The season starts in October and ends in February, the later in the season, the stronger the birds. Shoots are traditionally for 8 – 10 guns and we recommend a minimum of 2-3 days. Although we can cater for any groups requirement.
“A day in the field is not just about the shooting. At Las Golondrinas, they also pride themselves on their fine cuisine
and hospitality.”
