Grouse Shooting in Scotland & Northern England
The season runs from the 12th August to 10th December each year
This remarkable wild bird has been the subject of fascination for sportsmen for centuries and provides what many consider to be the pinnacle of game shooting. The 'Glorious Twelfth' heralds the start of the UK Grouse season.
Grouse shooting challenges even the most experienced of guns. They often stay in coveys, flying extremely fast downwind, hugging the contours of the heather moorland. A perfect mixture of wild birds, stunning scenery and deep-rooted tradition provide the ultimate shooting day.
Robin Hurt has exclusive access to a number of the best grouse moors in Scotland, and Northern England. Covering thousands of acres, each of these sporting estates has a great variety of drives.
The moors boast numerous lines of butts, thus giving the Estates plenty of flexibility when it comes to driving birds, no matter which direction the wind is blowing.
Accommodation varies from traditional Scottish pubs and hotels to private estate lodges, manor houses and castles. We can arrange both driven and walk up days. Driven days can be for 8 -10 guns, while a walked-up day is generally better suited for 4 – 8 guns.
