Tanzania boasts Africa's highest mountain, three World Heritage Sites, the World's longest freshwater lake and Africa's largest game reserve. In addition, nearly one quarter of all Africa's game is found in Tanzania and man's earliest ancestors used to roam the Serengeti Plains. We are in a unique position as a safari operator in East Africa. Not only are we able to take you to all the best Game Parks and Reserves but we can also offer our exclusive concession areas.
The Camps
We specialise in tailor-made Luxury Tented Photographic Safaris - camping is by far the best way to enjoy your safari. Our camps are equipped in the East African tradition - they are private and exclusive for you and your party. We are proud of the high standard of food served in camp - after all, you are camping in luxury! All tents are roomy, insect proof and secure with large beds and comfortable mattresses. Attached to the back of each sleeping tent is a private shower and lavatory.
A Typical Safari Day
Early morning tea or coffee is delivered to your tent, before heading off on the first game drive of the day. On return to camp breakfast is served by our highly skilled chefs or can be prepared ‘al fresco’ in the bush. After breakfast you can go on another game drive, go on a bush walk, visit a local village, or explore a “kopje” (a small rocky outcrop), before returning to camp for lunch and a short afternoon siesta. The late afternoon, like the early morning, is another prime time of day for game viewing and usually finds us setting out with afternoon tea in search of big game. As evening falls you return to camp for a hot shower and a spectacular African sunset. Cocktails are served before dinner around the campfire - the perfect opportunity to lazily reflect on the day. After a delicious candle-lit dinner, with a selection of excellent wines, you retire to the privacy of your tent to fall asleep, surrounded by the sounds of the African night.
Professional Guides
A Professional Guide, all of whom were born and raised in East Africa, will accompany you throughout your safari. Our Guides are, without question, some of the finest Professionals on the African Continent and are dedicated to giving you the safari of a lifetime. They have an intimate knowledge of East Africa, her people and her wildlife.
Vehicles
Our fleet of specially prepared four-wheel drive safari vehicles are designed for maximum comfort and game viewing. They all have roof hatches and come equipped with fridges, winches, radios and a comprehensive set of tools. A unique feature of being on safari with ourselves is, that a Professional Guide drives each safari vehicle
PRIVATE CONCESSIONS
Excellent game-viewing and photographic opportunities are enhanced in our own exclusive areas, by the absence of other visitors. Free from the restrictions of the National Parks, we are also able to enjoy night game drives and walks with local tribesmen. There are few, if any, safari operators who can offer a combination of outstanding Game Parks and exclusive wilderness concessions.
Burko Masailand
This 385,000 Acre private concession is located on the edge of the Great Rift Valley, from the forested mountains of Burko and Essimingor, down to the Engaruka Lake Basin, and the surrounding semi-desert floor of the rift valley. The volcanic activity incorporated with the formation of the rift valley, has created some of the most spectacular scenery, to be found anywhere in the world. It also led to the area being inhabited by an incredible diversity of wildlife, supported by the contrast in habitats.
Maswa Makau
Bordering the Serengeti National Park and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Maswa is an outstanding wildlife area encompassing 310,000 Acres of Acacia Woodland and open Savannah Plains. Between January and April each year enormous numbers of wildebeest migrate into the area following the rains, which also attracts a large number of predators.
