NAMIBIA - Safari Information
Areas & Trophy Priorities
Depending on game species required, your hunt will take place on Robin Hurt’s privately owned game ranch or on neighbouring ranches and conservancies.
Please note that the wider the variety of game you request the more essential the detailed planning of your hunt is and therefore to plan your safari to Namibia as far in advance as possible. Most safari hunting guests plan 1 to 2 years in advance.

Hunting Season
The trophy hunting season is open from 1st February to the 30th November.

Medical Information
Most of Namibia is malaria free.

We offer 10-day hunts. Species available, in Namibia include gemsbok, kudu, Hartman's mountain zebra, red hartebeest, springbok, blue wildebeest, eland, warthog, duiker, blesbok, southern impala, black wildebeest, cheetah, leopard, klipspringer and steinbok.

CITES Permits
Leopard and cheetah can only be hunted by special licensing from the Director of Wildlife. CITES permits are required for both of these animals. Please check with your home country if you can import these animal trophies i.e. the USA does not allow cheetah.

FIREARMS
We recommend a medium calibre rifle, preferably of a .300 calibre or 7mm Mag calibre, equipped with a good quality 3x9 power telescope. You can import up to 2 rifles and 1 shotgun into Namibia and firearm licences are issued on arrival at Windhoek Airport. There is no requirement to inform us in advance as to firearms and applicable serial numbers that you are bringing. Firearms are available, in Windhoek, for hire if this is your preference. Most common calibre rifle ammunition is also available in Windhoek. We recommend that you bring a spare scope for your medium calibre rifle and bring with you up to 80 rounds of good quality ammunition loaded with bonded soft-nose bullets. As some of the shooting in Namibia can be long range the .300 Winchester Magnum is the perfect choice loaded with 200 grain bullets. Please note that the use of muzzle breaks can seriously damage your and other people's hearing.
