The Cullman & Hurt Community Wildlife Project was established in 1990 by Robin Hurt and Joseph F. Cullman III. The basic aim is to encourage local communities to help conserve and protect wildlife and its habitat through incentive schemes. For a hunting safari operator, intact ecosystems and healthy wildlife populations are its long-term objective. Human poverty, which leads to the poaching wildlife and habitat destruction, is the single greatest threat to that goal.

The Cullman & Hurt Project currently partners with 33 villages which span 8 Districts and 7 Regions throughout Tanzania. These villages are all inside or adjacent to hunting blocks assigned to Robin Hurt Safaris (Tanzania), Ltd. Cullman & Hurt also assists the Government of Tanzania’s Wildlife Department with anti-poaching patrols and other conservation related activities.

In the course of its history, this project has generated over US $1 Million in Village Benefits through the sustainable utilization of wildlife.

Booking a Robin Hurt Safari is more than an adventure of a life time—it contributes to the future survival of wildlife in Africa!
